EMPAIA Academy
What was the EMPAIA Academy?
The EMPAIA Academy was a free training program of the EMPAIA project aimed at building competencies. It was specifically targeted at individuals interested in the fields of pathology and computer science and was divided into the thematic areas of pathology (for AI/IT specialists) and AI/IT (for pathologists). For each of these areas, both basic and advanced courses were offered.
In half-day virtual Academy seminars, renowned speakers from the fields of IT, artificial intelligence, and pathology discussed their experiences, use cases, and the latest developments in digital pathology.

Hand-on Workshop ECDP2022 in Berlin
During the European Congress on Digital Pathology 2022 in Berlin, the EMPAIA consortium conducted a 90-minute workshop as a practical introduction to computer-aided pathology for both pathologists and computer scientists. Participants could choose between three tracks, in which they analyzed histological images interactively in small groups using script-driven image processing or AI techniques.
